The Image Club fonts in this sampler are supplied in Type One PostScript¿ and TrueType¿ format. Please consult the installation instructions below or peruse the Adobe Acrobat format ╥Typeface User Manual╙ also found in this folder.
About the PostScript¿ Typefaces
_______________________________
The supplied PostScript fonts are Type 1 format and are completely compatible with Adobe Type Manager¬. When used in conjunction with the ATM¬ software, Image Club PostScript typefaces will give you clean, easy to read screen fonts at any size and sharp, legible output on nearly any imagesetting device.
Installing PostScript Fonts in System 6
To install the bitmap screen fonts in System 6, use Font/DA Mover version 3.8 or later to copy the fonts into the System file. Follow the information found in your Macintosh documentation to use the Font/DA Mover utility. The PostScript printer files must be placed loose in the System Folder in order for the font to work properly under System 6.
Installing PostScript Fonts in System 7
Both the PostScript printer files and the bitmap screen fonts can be installed by dragging the files to the System Folder. A dialog box asks you to confirm that you want to put the fonts where they belong. When you click the ╥OK╙ button in the dialog box, the bitmaps are automatically installed into the System file and the PostScript files will be put in the Extensions folder inside the System Folder. Under System 7.1 and later both the bitmaps and the PostScript files are placed into the Fonts folder. Follow the instructions found in your System 7 user manual for additional information on using fonts in System 7.
About the TrueType¿ Typefaces
_______________________________
In a TrueType font, both the character outline and screen font information are contained in the same document. Clean, sharp screen fonts and output on nearly any imagesetting device are possible without the use of Adobe Type Manager¬ because the typeface rasterizer is built into System Software version 7 and later. TrueType fonts also have the ability to contain large character sets, well beyond the limitations of the 256 character barrier found in standard encoded PostScript typefaces.
Installing TrueType Fonts in System 6
TrueType fonts may be used in system software version 6.0.7 if the TrueType INIT is installed. To install TrueType fonts in System 6, use Font/DA Mover version 4.1 to copy the fonts into the System file. Versions of Font/DA Mover earlier than 4.1 will not allow copying or moving of TrueType fonts. Follow the information found in your Macintosh documentation to use the Font/DA Mover utility. The Font/DA Mover utility and the TrueType INIT software are available from you local Apple dealer.
Installing TrueType Fonts in System 7
TrueType font files can be installed directly into the System file by dragging the TrueType suitcase into the System Folder. A dialog box asks you to confirm that you want to put the fonts into the System file. When you click the ╥OK╙ button in the dialog box, the fonts are automatically installed into the System file. Under System 7.1 and later, TrueType fonts are installed in the Fonts folder. Follow the instructions found in your System 7 user manual for additional information on using TrueType in System 7.
